Sometimes beginners or advanced individuals will work to a point well beyond their safety zone. It's important to remember when this happens bad things usually follow. Think sprains, tears and even death. There's a fine balance between working out and working out crazy.

While we all should work as hard as we can- safely; it's never a good idea to push your body past its limits and into ahem... an early grave.

I love to use this quote when working with advance clients because they can work harder, longer and with more intensity.  However working harder doesn't mean you work until you pass out, die or get sick.  Just get as close as you can without actually passing out, dying or getting sick.  It's a fine line that only advance individuals and groups should use sparingly in an overall fitness program.  Once you get a feel for your body's fitness limits you should attack them regularly and aggressively without passing out, dying or getting sick- just feel like it.
