&lt;p&gt;There is nothing like a McDonald&#039;s soft serve cone.  I can say this with authority because I know it to be a true, hard fact.  I go through phases of foods that I am obsessed with.  During my soft serve phase I tried all the soft serve available in town and McDonald&#039;s still came out on top!!  A close second is the Tastee Freez cone at Weinerschnitzel, but that cone will put you back 230 calories.  For just 150 calories, you can enjoy the best soft serve ice cream out there!!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I hate to admit this, but I don&#039;t have a sweet tooth....I have an entire mouthful of sweet teeth.&amp;nbsp; In my quest for a thin me, this is a huge burden and something I need to either overcome (yeah right) or somehow work around.&amp;nbsp; Since I am strongly against the use of artificial sweeteners because 1) they all taste horrific, 2) I am not convinced of their safety, and 3) there&#039;s plenty of research saying they inhibit weight loss anyway (so what&#039;s the point?), I have found some other ideas that satisfy my cravings for all things sweet without totally breaking the calorie bank.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Below are 10 foods, food combinations, and beverages I use to tame the beast, listed by descending caloric value....&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; 1) &lt;a href=&quot;http://myfresnofitness.com/node/411&quot;&gt;Chocolate-Cherry &quot;Sundae&quot;&amp;nbsp; 280 calories&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt; &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; (adapted from The Flat Belly Diet)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1/2 C low fat cottage cheese (Knudsen is the best)&lt;br&gt; 1/2 C frozen cherries, halved or quartered if you have the patience&lt;br&gt; 1/4 C semi-sweet chocolate chips&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Ok, to call this a &quot;sundae&quot; is a stretch, &amp;nbsp;but I needed some sort of name so&lt;br&gt; there you go. &amp;nbsp;Take your frozen cherries and cut them in half or in quarters&lt;br&gt; and let them thaw a bit (I nuke mine for about 10 seconds), throw the&lt;br&gt; cottage cheese on top, then the chocolate chips and stir it around...this&lt;br&gt; isn&#039;t rocket science, people...just completely delicious (albeit&lt;br&gt; odd-sounding) food! &amp;nbsp;For an extra 100 calories you can add a&lt;br&gt; scoop of vanilla whey protein powder and get 18 grams of protein!&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; 4) McDonald&#039;s soft serve cone 150 calories&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There is nothing like a McDonald&#039;s soft serve cone. &amp;nbsp;I can say this with&lt;br&gt; authority because I know it to be a true, hard fact. &amp;nbsp;I go through phases of&lt;br&gt; foods that I am obsessed with. &amp;nbsp;During my soft serve phase I tried all the&lt;br&gt; soft serve available in town and McDonald&#039;s still came out on top!! &amp;nbsp;A close&lt;br&gt; second is the Tastee Freez cone at Weinerschnitzel, but that cone will put&lt;br&gt; you back 230 calories. &amp;nbsp;For just 150 calories, you can enjoy the best soft&lt;br&gt; serve ice cream out there!! )&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; 5) Breyer&#039;s Chocolate Ice Cream&amp;nbsp; 140 calories for a half cup&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you are more of a Chocolate fan, treat yourself to half a cup of Breyer&#039;s&lt;br&gt; Chocolate Ice Cream. &amp;nbsp;It&#039;s made with all natural ingredients so you don&#039;t&lt;br&gt; need to worry about high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils...just&lt;br&gt; cream, milk, sugar, and deliciousness! &amp;nbsp;Simply measure accurately, put it in&lt;br&gt; a small bowl, then shove the carton to the back of the freezer so it makes&lt;br&gt; it harder to get to when you finish your half cup!&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; 6)&amp;nbsp; Strawberries and Cream 110 calories&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1 C strawberries, sliced&lt;br&gt; 1/4 c Tru Whip whipped topping&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Tru Whip is a whipped topping made with natural ingredients and has 15&lt;br&gt; calories per tablespoon...think Cool Whip minus the chemically taste and&lt;br&gt; hydrogenated oils. &amp;nbsp;You can find it at Whole Foods in the freezer section&lt;br&gt; near the ice cream. &amp;nbsp;Mix it up with the sliced strawberries or dip whole&lt;br&gt; strawberries into it...either way...it&#039;s good!!&lt;br&gt; ...and PS...if you eat it mostly frozen and just slightly thawed, it is kind&lt;br&gt; of like Mister Softee soft serve (see above)!&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; 7)&amp;nbsp; Chocolate See&#039;s Sucker&amp;nbsp; 80 calories&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;After my first kiddo was born, I received a box of these suckers and ate&lt;br&gt; only the suckers until they were gone. &amp;nbsp;I do not recommend this! &amp;nbsp;However,&lt;br&gt; if you are in want (or need, as the case may be!) of some chocolate, help&lt;br&gt; yourself to one of these! &amp;nbsp;For only 80 calories, you&#039;ll get a chocolate fix&lt;br&gt; that will take a while to get through!&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; 8) Emergen-C&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 50 calories for 2 packets&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In our house, we call this &quot;special soda&quot; in an attempt to make the kids&lt;br&gt; think they are getting a super awesome treat. &amp;nbsp;Take a medium glass, fill it&lt;br&gt; with ice (it&#039;s best with ice from Sonic, but any will do), pour in 2 packets&lt;br&gt; of your favorite flavor of Emergen-C (found at Trader Joe&#039;s, Whole Foods,&lt;br&gt; and any other health food or vitamin store, or through the link&lt;br&gt; below), then fill the glass with&lt;br&gt; sparkling water (I like the flavored ones from Trader Joe&#039;s...no calories,&lt;br&gt; just flavored sparkling water). &amp;nbsp;Now here&#039;s the key: stir it with a&lt;br&gt; knife....it works way better than stirring with a spoon! &amp;nbsp;If you are a soda&lt;br&gt; drinker, it may be hard to consider this &quot;soda&quot; but it works in a pinch!&lt;br&gt; Where else will you find a flavorful fizzy drink that&#039;s not filled with junk&lt;br&gt; and artificial sweeteners for only 50 calories?&lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; 9) Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Herbal Tea or Aveda Comforting Tea&amp;nbsp; 0 calories&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Both of these teas are just completely delicious! &amp;nbsp;They are rich and not&lt;br&gt; watery (if that makes sense...) &amp;nbsp;The Good Earth tea has a Red Rooibos base&lt;br&gt; and is blended with chicory root, peppermint, and more while Comforting Tea&lt;br&gt; is simply a blend of licorice root, peppermint, fennel, and basil...though&lt;br&gt; neither of them are minty at all. &amp;nbsp;You can find the Good Earth Sweet and&lt;br&gt; Spicy Tea at Trader Joe&#039;s for about 3 bucks a box and the Aveda Comforting&lt;br&gt; Tea at Amenities Day Spa in Fig Garden Village for about 20 bucks a box&lt;br&gt; (yes, you read that right, 20 dollars for tea, but completely worth it!).&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt; 10) Orbit Sweet Mint Gum&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Chewing Orbit gum is the only exception I make to my &quot;no artificial&lt;br&gt; sweeteners&quot; rule. &amp;nbsp;I don&#039;t know why, but I don&#039;t taste it in this&lt;br&gt; gum....it&#039;s just good, sweet gum and I choose to ignore my other reasons for&lt;br&gt; not using artificial sweeteners...so sue me. = ) &amp;nbsp; That being said, you know&lt;br&gt; that if I&#039;m chewing gum to satisfy a craving I am in a &quot;desperate times&lt;br&gt; calls for desperate measures&quot; situation. &amp;nbsp;The problem with chewing gum to&lt;br&gt; satisfy a craving is that sometimes it just makes me hungrier! Drain and immediately cool to retain the rich color of the greens.&amp;nbsp; When cool, drain and set aside the greens.&amp;nbsp; In a large sauté pan or wok, heat olive oil over medium high heat and sauté chicken about 5 minutes until well browned.
